What’s On in Madrid This Summer
From Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, thousands of people flock to the city to attend the numerous processions that take place on the streets of Madrid. Embrace the atmosphere created by the trumpets, rolling drums and hundreds of religious worshippers’ bright and colourful attire. You’ll find staged cultural events throughout the week. Churches and basilicas schedule religious concerts and the city’s best restaurants and patisseries serve and sell traditional Easter good and goodies.
Flamenco Madrid 2017 is the 3rd edition of an event that aims to create a space in which flamenco artists can develop and raise awareness of their latest works. Dance, vocals, exhibitions, conferences and round tables form part of a month devoted in body and soul to the flamenco art in all of its facets. For an entire month the Fernan Gomez Cultural Centre will welcome 20 flamenco vocal, dance and guitar companies in the Gulrau Hall and will offer four concerts that will delight audiences on Friday and Saturday evening thoughout Hune in the Jardlel Poncela Hall. The program contains different styles of Spanish and international dance. Cultural activities include conferences, exhibitions and masters classes.
