What’s On in Honolulu This Summer
April 1-May 8
Honolulu Biennial 2017, presented by Honolulu Biennial Foundation (HBF) is a new, multi-site, contemporary visual arts festival running from March 8 – May 8 2017 throughout various sites within the city. You’ll find tours, workshops, talks, and much more. The Honolulu Biennial will focus on art from the Pacific, the Asian continent and the Americas.
In 1928 a poet suggested that a holiday be created around the Hawaiian costume of making and wearing a lei (crowns of flowers). Later, Grace Tower Warren said “May day is Lei Day” and that date became the official day. Everyone in Honolulu is encouraged to wear a Lei.
