What to expect
Michelangelo Merisi from Caravaggio was a total innovator in the history of painting, a revolutionary artist, and an eccentric and brawly genius. Exploring the centre of Rome you will be able to admire his art and discover his adventurous life and find out where the artist used to live and listen about his love affairs. Starting with the French Church, San Luigi dei Francesi which contains three masterpieces - ""la Vocazione di San Matteo"", ""il Martirio di San Matteo"" and ""San Matteo e l’Angelo"" inside the Cappella Contarelli; then continue with a church not far away, located in Campo Marzio, la Chiesa Sant'Agostino where it is possible to admire the masterpiece ""Madonna dei Pellegrini"" and lastly, inside the Cappella Cerasi in the church of Santa Maria del Popolo, the last 2 masterpieces ""Conversione di San Paolo"" and ""La Crocifissione di San Pietro"".
Things to look out for
The tour will also allow us to admire the streets and buildings that have marked the life in the Roman stay of the artist like Via della Scrofa, Palazzo Firenze, Via della Lupa, Vicolo del Divino Amore, Via della Pallacorda and Palazzo Borghese. Don't miss it!
