First things first: You’re going to get wet. Secondly: If you can stand, you can SUP. No experience is needed in this water activity. If you are new to SUP-ing, then the best place to learn is in flat water. Start off with an hour-long lesson and paddle along the canals. The lack of waves will boost your confidence and give you a general feel for the action.

For the more advanced, rent a board and paddle in the open sea. It’s more challenging with the waves and the swell. Be sure to wear swimwear, sun cream and a hat, and bring along a towel. Lifejackets are also available upon request.
