What to expect

Sant Pau Art Nouveau is a former 20th-century hospital and one of the most important works from the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, who was one of the most prominent representatives of Catalan modernism. The huge complex consists of one main building and twenty-seven pavilions, and was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1997.

Things to look out for

Located in the neighborhood of El Guinardó, the Hospital de Sant Pau was built between 1901 and 1930 and is considered as one of the more popular buildings of the Modernisme movement. It currently has 26 buildings in the complex and it fully-functioned as a hospital until 2009.
