What to expect
The Appia Antica road was built starting from 312 BC to connect initially Rome to Capua then arrived to Brindisi becoming the most important route for trade with Magna Grecia. The guide will reveal interesting historical anecdotes on the ancient ruins of the tombs and the imperial palace that you will meet on the way: Sepolcro dei Festoni e del Frontespizio, Mausoleo Circolare, Tomb dei Rabiri, Tomb Figli Sesto Pompeo, Torre di Capo di Bove and, lastly, the Tomb of Cecilia Metella.
Things to look out for
Explore this beautiful area, be captivated by the view of the magnificent ancient aqueducts and the Aurelian walls and immerse yourself in nature in one of the most fascinating and evocative Roman Parks of the city! Not so far from the end of the tour, you could admire at your peace the ruins of the Circo di Massenzio and the Catacambs of St. Sebastian.
