What to expect

Join us as we explore the local Chinatown, tasting the delicious food that makes this neighbourhood internationally renowned. We’ll take the backstreets as well as explore the bright lights and energy of Chinatown’s electric Yaowarat street where we’ll introduce you to some of the area’s favourite street food artisans.

Things to look out for

Bangkok’s bustling Chinatown is one of the largest Chinatowns in the world! Locals refer to it as Yaowarat, after the main thoroughfare that runs through the district. Not only does this district of Bangkok have fantastic food and culture but it also has one of the most interesting histories of any neighbourhood in the city. It is the oldest section of Bangkok, founded in 1782 as an important shipping site on the Chao Phraya River. It quickly became the commercial hub of the city due to it’s strategic location and the astute business practices of the Chinese immigrants who lived and worked in this area.

Tour starts at Hua Lampong MRT Station at the top of the escalator at Exit 1 and ends at the Hua Lampong station as well. Tour starts at 5:30 pm on Thursdays and 5:00 pm during the weekends and will last for 3 to 3 and a half hours.

Helpful Tips

We recommend shorts and light shirts as well as comfortable walking shoes. Tour takes place rain or shine. We recommend bringing an umbrella and a sense of adventure in case the clouds break. Some of our most fun moments have been in the rain!
