Guided by the Simonsig winemakers, guests are escorted into the cellars where they learn about the harvesting of the grapes and the fermentation process. Details about the stabilisation of white wines and the barrel maturation of reds are also covered. Then, indulge in a guided tasting of five leading estate wines, including the famous Méthode Cap Classique Kaapse Vonkel bubbly.

You can spend an entire day at Simonsig with all that is on offer. Start with a glass of orange juice and bubbles, by cutting off the top of a sparkling wine bottle with a sword. Once you have mastered that, try some of Simonsig’s famous wines with a comprehensive wine tasting under the tutelage of an expert winemaker. Then relax with your favourite wine while enjoying a tasty meal at the Cuvee Restaurant, where the pork neck and designer burgers are firm favourites. After lunch, enjoy a stroll around the gardens where museum pieces and artefacts are on display.
