Christmas Market of Sagrada Familia

Location: Sagrada Familia, Barcelona
The Christmas Market at the Sagrada Familia is held opposite to the Sagrada Familia church since the 60s. Nearly a hundred stalls sell all kinds of figures and elements for cribs, Christmas trees and plants, gifts and food products and candies. No shortage of churros stalls and you will find also chestnuts and sweet potatoes stalls.

January 2017

Three Kings Parade

Location: Barcelona
On January 5 every year, the evening before Twelfth Night the Three Kings arrive by boat at the waterfront of Barcelona to be greeted by the Mayor of the city and led to the nearby park of Ciutadella. From there the Three Kings depart in their carriages, the principal part of a grand parade that proceeds slowly through the streets and avenues of the centre towards the Olympic Stadium. The Kings and other participants in the parade throw barley sugar sweets and other sweets to the children lining the route. There are many stalls along the way, especially along Gran Via.

Carnival

Location: Barcelona
Barcelona Carnival is a week- long celebration before Lent starts. It is a chance to feast and there are eating contests. In addition, the main events are colourful parades that are held in various hours during the day and in the evening. Bands, dancers, singers and jugglers participate in the parades.
