The Royal Melbourne Show is Victoria’s largest and most iconic annual community event. The show celebrates agriculture, award winning food and drink and world class live entertainment. A favourite for families, children can get up close and pet the animals as well as enjoying rides in the carnival precincts. The traditional purpose is the display of rural industry, including livestock and produce with its associated competitions and awards however the show also features amusement rides and a sideshow alley. A prominent feature during showtime are the many rides and amusements. The site has its own railway station, used during special events located on the Flemington Racecourse line.
